Through local organizations, residents of all walks of life can find invaluable resources no matter their age, gender, or need. The Vista del Camino Center and Via Linda Senior Center are proud to help bring those services to the disabled or homebound seniors in local neighborhoods. As part of the Adopt A Senior program, these local centers are always in need of useful items to donate to seniors in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Adopt A Senior in Scottsdale
When a disabled or homebound senior comes to us during a time of need, the City of Scottsdale counseling staff meets and spends time with the senior to better determine how any of our outstanding Scottsdale organizations can help. Typically, the Via Linda Senior Center is where the homebound or disabled senior will be enrolled into the Adopt A Senior program.
Adopt A Senior is an invaluable program that serves our community on multiple levels. When becoming part of the Adopt A Senior program, a homebound or disabled senior is given a chance to have a brighter day, often by small donations such as a book of stamps or a warm blanket. If sponsoring a senior during the holiday season, donors receive a list of items to donate to seniors in Scottsdale, Arizona and are paired with a specific senior, complete with a small bio about the senior and his or her wish list.
When showing those in need that there are caring members in the community, those actions reflect on the fabric of our neighborly network.
Helping a senior doesn’t necessarily need to be during the holiday season or even specifically through the Adopt A Senior program. Items to donate to seniors in Scottsdale can be dropped off at the Via Linda Senior Center at any time and all donations are tax deductible.
